I am a freelance reporter based in Indonesia. I primarily write about the environment but am also keen on culture and food writing. My most recent pieces are on orangutans in Borneo, the impacts of mining in Sulawesi, and humpback whales in the Philippines.
Fisheries and oceans in Asia are a major interest of mine, as are modern supply chains. On this front, I have written about salmon, shrimp, tuna, rice, sardines, live reef fish and palm oil. My focus on fisheries started in 2010 when I was working as a radio reporter in Alaska.
My writing has appeared in Al Jazeera, Mongabay, Lucky Peach, Jakarta Post, Tempo English Magazine, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Taiwan’s Rhythms Monthly.
